11th January 2016

Happy (belated) New Year! I took a little break from this blogging lark over the festive period as I was working in retail over Christmas, spending time with my family and then skiing out in Courchevel. I've had a well-deserved rest, eaten way too many ferrero rochers and even re-vamped The Jack Experience logo - let me know what you think! Today I’m back with the final instalment of my Amazon Student series and I’d like to share with you 5 great features you can access with Amazon Prime. Amazon Student grants access to all of these things with a 6-month-free deal exclusive to those in education. Let's go...

1. Amazon One-Day Delivery

I never realised how much I needed Amazon’s life saving one-day delivery service until I had it in my life. Many sticky situations have been gratefully averted thanks to next-day delivery, including the time I lost my copy of ‘Death of a Salesman’ which I desperately needed for my English Literature essay due a few days later and was able to have another one at my doorstop before I could even say the words “modern tragedy”. I was also faced with a bit of a dilemma on the day before Christmas Eve when I received a blood-curling email which said that the item I had ordered for my brother on an online clothing retailer had been over-sold and would not be sent to me. My first resort was Amazon, where I found a fantastic alternative present and clicked the magic ‘next-day delivery’ option. Thankfully – and with an enormous sigh of relief – the alternative present arrived the very next morning and was wrapped and under the tree just in time for Chrimbo. Thank you Amazon for saving my Christmas.

2. Amazon Music and Video

Of course, one of the most attractive features of Amazon Prime is unlimited access to millions of brilliant songs and movie titles. My personal favourite movies available on Amazon Prime Video include The Imitation Game, Gravity, We’re The Millers and 12 Years a Slave. To find out more about the top titles click here to check out my movie and TV guide. Likewise, I’ve also concocted a post with some suggested playlists for Amazon Music which are available for your listening pleasure over here.

3. Photo Storage

It’s the worst thing ever when you run out of storage, but you have too many precious memories locked up in the photos which clog up your device. Amazon has the solution; unlimited photo storage with Prime Photos. Upload all of the pictures from your mobile and laptop to this intangible cloud and keep your photos safe, while still saving some storage space for that essay that you really should get ‘round to doing. They’ll be ready and waiting for you when you need them, stored completely safely out of the way.

4. Kindle

In November 2007, Amazon announced its exciting new product; the Kindle. For those who don’t know – where have you been??? – a Kindle is an intuitive e-reader which allows users to browse, buy, download and read e-books, newspapers, magazines and other digital media on-the-go. There’s a diverse range available, each with different features (such as a backlit screen or even the ability to play games) and many different price ranges. I took mine on holiday with me, which was a perfectly lightweight alternative to lugging around heavy books in my suitcase and hand-luggage. I’m currently reading ‘Thinking About It Only Makes It Worse’ by David Mitchell which I’d thoroughly recommend. One of my favourite features has got to be the in-built dictionary, where you can immediately look up any word in the book you’re reading at the flick of a wrist. With Amazon Prime, you can borrow a Kindle book each month from an expansive selection of over 500,000 titles in the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library.

5. Lightning Deals

Amazon also offers incredible lightning deals which are updated on a daily basis. The products available range from kitchen utensils to books and technology, with hundreds of money-saving offers uploaded everything single day guaranteed to satiate all tastes! Today, to give you a brief taster, there’s an electric toothbrush set reduced by 70%, a top-brand coffee machine reduced by 65% and the popular adults colouring books reduced to just £3, amongst hundreds more brilliant deals!

So what are you waiting for? Amazon Prime is bursting at its seams with fantastic offers for you to access today! With the Amazon Student deal you can access all of Amazon Prime for half the price – after being treated to your first six months free! I’m also honoured to announce that I’ve been nominated in two categories at the UK Blog Awards 2016 (Lifestyle and Best Storyteller) which is a massive achievement for me. If you have a spare moment and wish to support me, please click here to head over to the website and vote! The public vote isn’t open for long and it takes one minute to lend me your support. Thanks very much for reading and, until next time, goodbye!
